Class Description
Fusion Bellydance Beginner Term 4 (4 Weeks) LOCATION: TAKE CARE STUDIOS (BRUNSWICK) TUESDAYS 7:15pm-8:30pm Come and join the Alyasati community and immerse yourself in the rich, expressive world of Fusion Bellydance. Fusion Bellydance (often known as Tribal Fusion) is characterised by precise isolations, fluid undulations, and serpentine, intentional movement, combined with a deeply embodied and body-positive approach to self-expression. It draws from both traditional and contemporary influences, creating a unique and evolving dance form. Your teacher, Sarah Moulton, brings a lifetime of dance experience, weaving together elements of Bellydance, Indian classical dance, contemporary, and ballet into her distinct fusion style. This Beginner level is perfect for those new to fusion, returning after a break, or wishing to refine and strengthen their foundations. Over 4 weeks, this level will explore the foundational building blocks of technique unique and essential to a strong fusion dancer covering a range of vocabulary as well as learning a fun mini-choreography to finish the year! Fusion Bellydance is a powerful practice for: • Cultivating a deep, intimate connection with your body • Building strength, flexibility, and coordination • Exploring a range of movement qualities—serpentine, powerful, sensual, devotional, soft, and earthy • Expanding your ability to express yourself through dance • Developing a stronger connection to musicality and rhythm • Experiencing joy, creativity, and play And perhaps most importantly… being part of a genuine, supportive, and inspiring community. What to wear? Comfortable clothes for dance and stretching. If you have a fabric hip scarf/belt to tie around the waist you are welcome to wear in class (having something around your waist makes the movements look better! Please no loud coin scarfs )
